Dieter Weissenrieder, the founder of The Weiss-Aug Group launched the philosophy of “Quality Begins with Me” early in the company’s history. This philosophy touches every aspect of our culture and organization and is demonstrated in our success in supplying a multitude of customers with a Zero PPM rating.

Each team member is introduced to the Quality Begins with Me concept on their first day. We focus on the importance of being part of the supply chain for critical industries that affect lives. They know that they can make a difference for a family driving safely, a patient having a good outcome, or even robots completing their mission on Mars.

It starts with the Material

The Weiss-Aug Group develops its own prints and specifications to ensure material repeatability. Often, standard mill /processer specs are simply not accurate enough to manufacture precision stampings with tight dimensional requirements. To take it a step further, we often ensure further repeatability by securing material from the same master heats. From there, our inspection lab conducts a variety of tests to ensure that the material meets mechanical properties.

Process Control

Inbound Vision systems, combined with servo feeds and pilot sensors, ensure coil stock is properly and accurately fed into the stamping press.

As the strip progresses through the die, sensors are employed in key stations along with automated in-line dimensional inspection to give real-time feedback of product quality.

Finally, outbound vision and automated in-line inspection systems ensure the completed part meets specifications.

The Weiss-Aug Group maintains a variety of ISO/IATF certifications. Each location has different certifications, depending on the industry they serve. What is common between the plants is robust quality systems, and culture of “Quality Begins with Me”.

For Medical Device Manufacturing, we are ISO 13485 Certified and CFR Part 820 Compliant.

For Automotive Part Manufacturing, we are IATF 16949 Certified and have internal IATF certified auditors.

We are also ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 certified.
