Our Response to COVID-19

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, significant disruption to American’s usual work routines are being impacted. We wanted to update you on the steps The Weiss-Aug Group is taking to ensure the safety of our employees and those who may interact with Weiss-Aug employees.

Given the uncertainty of this situation, we are taking proactive steps to address several business concerns. First and foremost, we want to maintain a safe workplace and encourage and/or adopt practices protecting the health of our employees, customers, visitors or others. We also want to ensure the continuity of business operations.

Please be advised that we are taking this health threat very seriously and we will be enacting several measures outlined below, which may change, depending on guidance/instruction from our state and federal government. We are monitoring the situation closely.

OUR CUSTOMERS

How is Weiss-Aug responding to the Covid-19 outbreak?

We are following guidance from public health authorities, including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).  We continue to implement strategies to protect our workforce and ensure continuity of operations for our customers.

Are you experiencing any inventory shortage?

We are monitoring the supply of raw material and our sub-suppliers that perform key steps in the manufacturing process for any potential gaps. At this time, we have not identified any supply issues but as you are aware, businesses are subject to governmental curfews and these vary from region to region. The overall situation is fluid and will require continuous monitoring. In the event we identify any supply concerns, we will reach out to the appropriate persons in your organization.

Are you planning any staff reductions?

Weiss-Aug does not anticipate the need to reduce staff.  Production operations will continue to run on regular schedules.

Are you confident in your ability to continue serving your customers?

The Weiss-Aug Group stands ready to serve our customers. We hope these steps will help ensure continuous supply of our products and serve to keep everyone safe and healthy.

OUR EMPLOYEES

What are you doing to prepare and protect your employees?

The health and well-being of our employees is very important and we are taking steps to mitigate risks for Weiss-Aug team members.  We have increased our cleaning levels. Surfaces and touch points are being wiped down daily.  We are following recommendations of the WHO, CDC and other national health authorities, and are continuously monitoring the situation.

We’ve implemented best practices, travel restrictions and alternative working arrangements where possible to protect the health and welfare of our employees.

We published hand washing/social distancing protocols to our employees with the following recommendations:

  • No gatherings - 1 person per cafeteria table
  • Eat lunch at your desk or workstation, if possible
  • Face-to-face meetings are being limited to a few people with greater reliance on web-based conferencing
  • Certain office employees will be working from home and others have staggered shifts to reduce the density of personnel in the work-space

No visitor appointments, this includes: suppliers/contractors/customers, etc.)

All mail and package deliveries to be dropped off in vestibule.

No onsite interviews – HR is conducting all interviews via phone or video .

TRAVEL BANS

Following the recommendations of the WHO, CDA and other national health authorities, Weiss-Aug has suspended travel for all employees and we are no longer accepting visitors. If you have an urgent need to have us visit or plan to come to one of our five facilities, we ask for your patience during this crisis.
